Behind the Scenes
How the Magic is Done
From raw fiber to finished masterpiece — discover the ancient process that makes every Artesano piece unique.

The Warper
The process begins with warping — carefully arranging the vertical threads (the warp) that will form the backbone of the textile. Our artisans measure and set each thread by hand, ensuring even tension across the entire width.

Tightening Threads
With the warp in place, each thread must be individually tightened and secured. Using a traditional drop spindle, the weaver adjusts the tension of every strand to guarantee uniformity.

The Wooden Spool
The wooden spool carries the horizontal thread back and forth through the warp. Carved by hand from local hardwoods, each spool is a tool and a work of art in itself.

The Machete
The machete — a flat wooden blade — is used to beat the weft threads tightly into place after each pass. This step compacts the weave, giving the textile its density and durability.

The Weave
Thread by thread, row by row, the design comes to life. Complex patterns emerge as the weaver works from memory, following traditions passed down through generations.
